Projects Shine’s Phase III lesson today.
We did a short screening of the movie August Rush. Its the story of a charismatic young Irish guitarist and a sheltered young cellist who have a chance encounter one magical night above New York’s Washington Square, but are soon torn apart, leaving in their wake an infant, August Rush, orphaned by circumstance. Now performing on the streets of New York and cared for by a mysterious stranger, August uses his remarkable musical talent to seek the parents from whom he was separated at birth.
The children enjoyed thoroughly. The music was evocative and soothing, and they seemed to be calmed down after that. We then got down to work doing a short analysis of the movie, followed by a comprehension passage and reflections on the movie.
Halfway through, our mentor at DAS, Educational Therapist Miranda Lee, came in listen to our lesson. She seemed impressed, and the team’s happy that our lessons are going well. We really want the dyslexic children to improve.
I love Project Shine!
Its a whole new experience for each one of us. Its hard, but im sure our hard work will go far to help the children.
Jiayou!
Our volunteer work has just started on the 23rd January and we have been working really hard! (Y) Hope to recieve your support, yet again! Our lesson packages have been set up every week and we are targetting with Lady Gaga’s songs to allow the children to listen to for the first lesson and we would then let them listen to Justin Bieber, an artist that is taking on the world with his international hit single “Baby”.
More updates coming your way!
Hey hey hey! Getting support from you guys for this material release instead of a digital release. Sorry. We are so sorry about this.
I’m in hope for a set of great news ahead.
Well, this ain’t that great with the response slowing down, down, down since 8/1/2010. The material release of the albums are official and we are planning to sell them pretty soon! So look out for us heading down to your schools probably on Term 3!
See you then.
Welcome to our website/updates blog, which is now 90% complete.
I personally think the design is wonderful, don’t you think so too
We will have our live performance really soon, performing songs that you would know as well, including originals from us. A bonus track would also be performed live
We are about to start our street sales in January as well… so be expectant!
